Prelude: Well its has been a long journey, 4 years and 3 iterations and mega millions of dedicated fan base and around Rs 5000 crore worth of day 1 sales and more than 25000 crore worth total sales,a rabid following since the Genre changing Infinity Ward product Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. After the humongous MW2, IW is back with MW3 and this time with some reinforcements piped down by the Big Daddy Activision. So could the Company and workforce of newly formed Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software fill the void created by the Top brass of IW being fired including the mentors Jason West and Wince Zampella and the answer is "NO".
Story: If taken as a standalone FPS,it is cut above rest.I won't spoil the story but it picks form where MW2 left with our fav Hero Soap being brought to a safe house in Himachal Pradesh. The world is ravaged by a "Will of a Single man"..Makarov and its time we end this. The game encompasses half the Globe with mission in major cities of Europe, USA and Africa. The Airplane Mission stands out. At 5-6 hours Campaign length the game offers great value for time and money and the best climax one could have asked for.Hollywood must take a queue what a "Villain" shall be and how he must be put to his correct place i.e 6 feet underground or 6 feet above ground :D.
But as an Iteration to MW2, it certainly dissapoints. The game seems rushed especially when it comes to attention to detail for which IW was famous for. Many levels are recycled form past two games even the sister concern one and you sometimes get the feeling of "Being there Done that".The Himachal Pradesh mission dissapoints as it dosen't look like India and there is no mention of IA or IAF or ven police while Price and Nikolai blow shit up but the European Cities are made to strike awe.The third act is pretty monotonous and you can predict before even you press your index finger.
Gameplay: IW has applied successfully and it can surely flaunt "Why fix that ain't broken".They have just modified and upgraded the last IW4 engine and thats a good news as it ain't so hungry as frostbite 2.The game runs smooth on High settings but the color palette is a bit quaint. Its a CoD game with all the fun and thrills a CoD has been serving us from late 2003.You get to man a UGV,Predator, Chopper machine gun controls and UAV..its fun though I don't think I might return back to revisit any of them. There are all kinda a missions, stealth to slam bam bang on your head spray bullets kinda mission but I remember none which I might love to recall. The Gunplay as as stasfying as a Formula 1 ferrari.
Verdict: So finally we can say that MW3 is an awesome game but just good sequel to the amazing MW2.

FINAL VERDICT= 4/5.
